Drawing the Scenic St. Croix’s Prairie Flora (for adults)

September 19, 2018
8:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Fee: $46  – Register Here
Materials: list will be provided

The St. Croix River turns 50 this year!* Come spend the morning drawing prairie flora that line sections of the riverway. We will meet at Belwin Conservancy near Afton, MN, where we will explore ways to capture the feel of the prairie on paper. Students will learn about prairie flora as they are guided in exploring their own unique approach to capturing the essence of the prairie. They will gain skills in keen observation of shapes, sizes, relationships, negative and positive space. Also, they will be guided and encouraged to explore various approaches to render the natural world onto a 2D surface

*(Since it’s designation as a National Scenic Riverway)

Creativity Workshop (for adults)

Three Tuesdays, September 25 – October 9, 2018
Held at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI
12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
Fee: $69 – Register Here

Through doodling, writing, art, games, activities and some general silliness, this workshop will help you crack open and expand your innate creativity. Using a variety of techniques, activities and media, students will reawaken and expand their creative capacity which they can then apply to all areas of their lives. Students will gain skills in image making, writing, seeing, questioning and “thinking outside the box”. No experience necessary! Promise. Bring pen/pencil and an unlined bound (or spiral) notebook.
